Happy Birthday Stud!

It's my stepson Cole's 19th birthday today. Happy Birthday, bud. These are a couple images I made of Cole for his senior pictures that didn't quite make the wallet-size cut but that I always liked. Love ya' man!

Only in America?

Just about the last place I expected to see the Statue of Liberty was on the Aran Islands off the West coast of Ireland, but that's exactly what John Herrick was painting on the side of "The American Bar" on the island of Inismore. Between showers, that is. Herrick, who was quite a football player in his day according to one of his buddies, was painting the mural by hand.

What's it Like?

What's it like to stand near the edge of the earth...or in this case lie there on your belly? Well, those are a couple HCC students in the foreground there looking over about a 400 ft. cliff as the rain and incredibly strong wind swirl about. Beth Dittmer, and, I believe, Lindsay Jans. Looks like fun to me.

A little "English"

The coach of the Kilbeacanty National School 6th grade hurling team leans into a shot by one of his players during a game in May of 2007. I shot this while on vacation with my wife. In May of 2008 I took 15 students from Hawkeye Community College to Ireland on a study abroad trip. Stay tuned for some of their photos.
